About this Position:

As a Cross Tier Director, Programmatic , you are the strategic and operational lead responsible for shaping, scaling, and elevating programmatic media across tiers, channels, and client portfolios. This role sets the vision for programmatic planning excellence while ensuring best-in-class execution, innovation, and performance across accounts—particularly within luxury and premium categories.

You will lead and mentor the programmatic planning team, including direct management of the Senior Media Planner, Programmatic, while serving as a senior strategic partner to clients, internal leadership, and cross-agency stakeholders. This role bridges strategy, activation, analytics, and innovation—ensuring programmatic efforts are integrated, future-forward, and consistently delivering business impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and evolve the programmatic planning vision across tiers, ensuring consistent frameworks, standards, and strategic rigor.
  • Lead the development of advanced, full-funnel programmatic strategies across display, video, CTV, audio, and emerging channels.
  • Act as the senior programmatic authority for assigned accounts, providing strategic oversight, problem-solving, and client leadership.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports, including the Senior Media Planner, Programmatic, fostering growth, accountability, and excellence.
  • Partner with activation, analytics, and technology teams to ensure seamless execution, optimization, and measurement across DSPs.
  • Guide audience, data, and identity strategies, including 1P/2P/3P data, contextual solutions, clean rooms, and privacy-safe approaches.
  • Establish and oversee measurement frameworks, testing roadmaps, and learning agendas in collaboration with analytics and insights teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend new programmatic partners, platforms, and technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Ensure quality control across all programmatic plans, outputs, and client deliverables.
  • Translate complex performance data into compelling narratives and executive-level insights.
  • Serve as a trusted senior advisor to clients, presenting strategies, results, and future opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with creative, account, and production teams to align media strategy with messaging, formats, and brand objectives.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, POVs, and agency-wide best practices related to programmatic and cross-channel media.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in digital media, with deep expertise in programmatic planning and strategy.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing senior-level planners.
  • Advanced understanding of DSPs (DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, Yahoo DSP, etc.) and programmatic buying mechanics (PMPs, PG, RTB, auction dynamics).
  • Strong experience with audience strategy, data activation, measurement, attribution, and optimization methodologies.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with luxury, automotive, or premium brands strongly preferred.
  • Deep cross-channel knowledge spanning display, video, CTV, audio, native, and emerging programmatic formats.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and media planning/reporting workflows.

Bonus if You Have:

  • Hands-on-keyboard DSP experience
  • Google Marketing Platform, Trade Desk, or Amazon Ads certifications
  • Experience with brand lift studies, MMM, MTA, or advanced analytics
  • Exposure to identity solutions, clean rooms, and privacy-first data models
  • Experience driving automation, operational efficiencies, and scalable reporting solutions
  • Experience with DCO and personalization at scale
  • Multi-tier or cross-portfolio leadership experience
