This position is a full-time, renewable, nine-month appointment.## **Key Job Responsibilities:**Primary teaching responsibilities will include courses in Digital Foundations (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator), Publication Design (InDesign), and UI/UX Interface Design, along with potential assignments in the General Education course World of the Arts (WOTA). Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, a commitment to inclusive and effective teaching practices, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented academic environment.**Department:**The NASAD accredited Department of Art and Design offers programs in studio/fine art, art history, graphic design, and media arts, serves approximately 400-500 students each academic year and offers B.A., B.S., B.S.E., and B.F.A. degree Majors. The Department of Art and Design is a part of the College of Arts and Communication and currently employs 15+ full and part-time faculty and staff and is located in the Greenhill Center of the Arts, which also houses the Theatre/Dance and Music Departments and the Crossman Gallery (a 2,500 square-foot facility that presents professional, juried, and student exhibitions).**Compensation:**Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary of $52,000.UW System employees receive an excellent benefit package. To learn more about the UW System’s comprehensive benefit package, review the UW System**Required Qualifications:**A Masters (MA, MFA) in Graphic Design or an equivalent terminal degree with a focus in publication design and UI/UX design is required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong command of typography,visual communication, and conceptual design skills, and be fluent in current UI/UX design trends, concepts and theories. Proficiency in relevant industry-standard software and the Macintosh platform is expected, along with an understanding of cross-platform workflows.**Preferred Qualifications:**Previous university-level teaching experience in all levels of Graphic Design is highly preferred. Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in 4-D design and those who demonstrate a strong record of professional creative activity.
