Qualifications
License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree in related field preferred.
Experience Qualifications: Three years of successful teaching experience required. Experience working with common assessments, data analysis, and local school assessment use preferred.
Skills Qualifications: Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; ability to create and deliver professional learning aligned to the direction of the Accountability and Assessment Office that supports the vision, mission, and goals of the district; strong communication skills, both in oral and written format; strong technology skills, including assessment platforms and Microsoft Office Suite programs; knowledge of data analysis and interpretation of data; knowledge and application of research-based instructional strategies in technical writing; knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum with in-depth knowledge of techniques for integrating curriculum, GCPS policies, and effective instructional practices; ability to work successfully with colleagues; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; and ability to effect change.
Primary Responsibilities
Be knowledgeable in the district’s assessment platform to support schools and district staff.
Oversee daily operations, troubleshoot issues, and support schools with the district assessment platform via email, phone calls, and support tickets.
Attend weekly meetings with the vendor.
Communicate effectively with the vendor support staff as well as customer support.
Clear written and verbal skills to support local school personnel in their use of the assessment platform.
Work with the assessment platform vendor to implement a district assessment tool that meets the needs of the schools and students.
Test vendor updates and upgrades, providing guidance for implementation and future needs.
Assist in establishing a priority list for platform enhancements.
Assist in developing timelines for product enhancements.
Plan, create, and provide professional learning opportunities for the district supported assessment platform.
Facilitate professional learning for local school staff on a variety of topics including test creation, item banks, item types, assessment settings, data review, and protocols.
Facilitate professional learning for district staff regarding locating, interpreting, and use of data from district and locally created assessments.
Design, create, and produce professional learning opportunities, via an on-demand, self-paced learning series for local school and district staff.
Know or willingness to learn how to use video editing software for the creation of on-demand training videos.
Design, create, and update both teacher and administrator facing resources to support the assessment platform.
Effectively analyze and use assessment data, using researched-based data protocols, to lead data talks to impact student achievement.
Work with local schools to analyze district assessment results including item and standard analysis.
Support local schools in monitoring data from a variety of sources.
Present data in ways that are easy to understand by stakeholders.
Act as a catalyst for change to support the Department of Accountability and Assessment
Work well with colleagues and demonstrate and maintain productive and positive interpersonal skills.
Support and implement district initiatives.
Manage multiple projects effectively.
Build and maintain confidential relationships with school and district staff.
Serve on committees/task forces as an ad hoc member where appropriate.
Summarize work on a regular basis and communicate with stakeholders as appropriate.
Complete tasks with high quality under defined deadlines.
Manage projects through strong organization, detailed plans, and balancing multiple priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
