Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Office of Research Integrity and Safety Support Services Coordinator, design and develop e-learning course materials and instructional content. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to translate complex ideas into teaching tools to maximize learner understanding and contribute to safety training development.

Design, develop, and assess engaging educational content based on instructional theory and best practices. Identify knowledge and skill gaps, improve self-directed learning experiences, and review work to improve quality, readability, consistency, and educational effectiveness.

Provide support for ORIS Support Services, including Professional Employee Portal (PEP) administrative tasks, managing communication, and contributing to compliance data entry and stewardship.

Manage and maintain education materials developed by ORIS Support Services, develop tools to evaluate instruction, update courses to stay relevant, accurate, and effective.

Analyze existing and emerging technologies and make recommendations on their use to meet ORIS goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or a related field and 2 years of professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies

Solid technical expertise and proficiency in creating interactive online content using authoring tools, preferably Articulate Storyline.

Familiarity with working within a learning management system.

Familiarity with video/audio/photo editing programs.

Strong PC skills and expertise in Microsoft Office (especially advanced PowerPoint) and Abode Photoshop.

Aptitude for effective visual, oral, and written communication.

Ability to adapt to ad hoc requests, scope changes, and remain productive in response to a fluctuating work environment.

Motivation for continuous professional development and ability to stay current with emerging technologies.

Duties/Responsibilities Design and produce creative and innovative learning materials in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, and video in e-learning and blended learning contexts to support the objectives and goals of the Office of Research Integrity and Safety and its offices.

Work with Subject Matter Experts and the ORIS Support Services Coordinator to design, develop, and assess engaging educational content based on sound instructional theory and best practices. This includes identifying knowledge and skill gaps and improving the experience of self-directed learning.

Review one’s own work and the work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and educational effectiveness.

Provide general support for ORIS Support Services, including PEP administrative tasks, communications, and compliance data entry.

Maintain education material developed by ORIS Support Services, develop tools to evaluate instruction, and update courses to stay relevant and effective.

Analyze characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and make recommendations on their use in ORIS activities.
