
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director of Communications supports the CCO in the overall execution of Delta Zeta’s corporate communication philosophy and strategy. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day digital communications, social media, video creation and editing and management of visual assets that advance Delta Zeta’s brand and strategic priorities.
This is a creative and detail-oriented role suited for a skilled executor who can manage multiple projects, produce polished content and ensure consistent brand presentation across platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, write, schedule and publish social media content across Delta Zeta’s platforms in alignment with editorial calendars and messaging direction provided by the CCO.
Author blog posts, website copy, editorial articles, press releases, captions and other short-form copy.
Coordinate photo and video coverage at conferences, events and organizational gatherings.
Edit short-form and long-form video content for social media, email and website use.
Build, test, schedule and send communications on various platforms.
Maintain work in progress details on shared project management platform and calendar.
Create graphics and visual assets for digital, print and presentation use, including social media graphics, email visuals, event materials and website assets.
Apply and uphold Delta Zeta’s visual identity, brand guidelines and editorial standards.
Maintain organized content and visual asset libraries, templates and workflows.
Track and report on key performance indicators across digital channels, including website analytics, email open and click-through rates and social media engagement and growth.
Make data-informed recommendations for content creation, posting cadence, formats and platform use to improve reach, engagement and effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital media or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications or digital content roles.
Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand.
Proficiency in email marketing platforms and content management systems.
Strong working knowledge of design and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro or similar).
Experience with event-based content creation and on-site coverage.
Understanding of website content management tools (e.g.,Wordpress), analytics and performance reporting.
