
**Key Responsibilities:****Tax Compliance (Federal, State, International)*** Prepare federal book/tax analysis for supporting workpapers, as well as multistate income/franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.* Assist with gathering, validating, and organizing supporting workpapers, data, and schedules used for tax filings and audits.* Support state apportionment calculations and state modifications for relevant jurisdictions.* Prepare responses to notices, information requests, and audit related queries.**Tax Provision & Reporting*** Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions for financial reporting, including deferred tax calculations, return to provision adjustments, and effective tax rate analysis.* Work cross functionally with Accounting and FP&A to reconcile book to tax differences, temporary differences, and tax account balances.* Support preparation of disclosures and internal reporting packages.* Assist with tax entries into Workday (Accounting system).**Tax Research & Advisory*** Perform basic to intermediate tax technical research on federal, state, and international tax issues impacting EDF Trading North America.* Draft clear, concise summaries of findings for review by the Tax Manager and Tax Director.* Monitor relevant tax law changes and assist in assessing operational impacts.**Indirect Tax & Transaction Support**The Senior Tax Analyst is a key contributor within the EDF Trading North America tax function, supporting a fast-paced environment with complex domestic, state, and international tax considerations. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing federal, state, and international tax compliance; assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provision analysis and reporting; supporting tax research; and contributing to process improvements. The Sr. Tax Analyst collaborates closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely, and well supported tax reporting and compliance for EDF Trading’s North American entities. Maintain well organized tax workpapers following internal control requirements and documentation standards.**Qualifications and Requirements** 4–6 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in a blend of public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier) and corporate tax.* Experience with:* Federal and multistate corporate income tax* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel* Tax provision preparation or review* Tax Provision Software* Energy Tax Issues* International tax fundamentals (e.g., BEAT, cross-border transactions)* Indirect tax familiarity preferred (sales & use, VAT/GST exposure a plus)* Process Automation* IFRS* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Ideally, experience with Workday* Ability to interpret and apply complex tax rules with sound judgment.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.We are committed to equipping our employees with the tools that will enable them to fulfil their job to the highest standard.
