General Description

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Plumber to independently install, maintain, and repair complex plumbing systems, including potable water, sanitary and storm sewers, sewage lift stations, roof drains, hydronic piping systems, air and flammable gas systems, fire sprinkler systems, and irrigation systems. The position is responsible for the safe treatment and testing of potable water systems used by the general public and compliance with all international, state, and local codes. Responsibilities

Perform complex duties in the repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems and backflow prevention devices in state buildings. Recommend energy‑saving changes. Install, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler systems and help repair irrigation systems. Work with engineers on new system design, troubleshooting, testing, and startup of new systems. Follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections. Qualifications

Education & Licenses: Journeyman Plumbing License (required). Preference for holders of a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) license and Level 1 Water License. Experience: 0–1 year of progressive work experience in plumbing with acquired knowledge at the plumber level. OR 3–4 years of progressive work experience in plumbing with acquired knowledge at the plumber level. Physical Working Conditions: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to kneel, crawl in confined spaces, and stand on ladders for extended periods. Must be able to physically operate tools and equipment such as sewer machines, jackhammers, shovels, and torches. Notes
