Spirits Market Manager — Upstate NY

Breuckelen Distilling is an award-winning craft spirits distillery born in Brooklyn, New York. Our portfolio is rooted in quality, story, and place — and we’re looking for a Market Manager who can translate that into meaningful growth across key New York markets.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of sales execution, relationship-building, and brand storytelling. You’ll be responsible for driving distribution, strengthening distributor partnerships, and building long-term visibility for Breuckelen Distilling across on- and off-premise accounts throughout
Albany North/South, and Westchester County , working with our distributor,
RNDC/Opici .
Key Responsibilities Market & Account Development
Develop and manage a focused account target list aligned with brand and volume priorities
Open and develop new on- and off-premise accounts throughout the assigned territory
Prioritize effort across high-impact on- and off-premise accounts, balancing new distribution with execution in existing accounts
Maintain and grow existing account relationships through consistent follow-up and value-driven selling
Secure menu placements, features, and incremental distribution aligned with brand priorities
Execute tastings, staff trainings, and in-account activations to drive pull-through
Act as the primary field partner and advocate for Breuckelen Distilling with distributor sales teams
Conduct ride-withs, trainings, and education support to improve execution
Ensure priorities are clearly communicated and drive focus, accountability, and follow-through against agreed priorities
Monitor depletion trends and placement progress in VIP, escalating risks or opportunities as needed
Brand Building & Activations
Represent the brand at events, pop-ups, festivals, and trade functions
Collaborate with internal teams on market-specific activations and promotions
Serve as a brand ambassador, confidently telling the Breuckelen story to buyers, bartenders, and consumers
Understand basic pricing, margin, and depletion dynamics to inform smarter selling and activation decisions
Track account activity, placements, and performance using CRM and reporting tools
Share competitive insights, pricing feedback, execution needs and market trends with leadership
Provide regular updates on wins, challenges, and opportunities in the territory
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in wine, spirits, or beer sales
Proven ability to independently open new accounts and manage relationships in a competitive market
Comfort with cold outreach, in-person selling, and on-premise engagement
Strong communication skills and confidence presenting to individuals or groups
Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing a territory autonomously
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the market
Bonus if you have:
Experience working directly with distributors
Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting
A genuine enthusiasm for craft spirits and brand storytelling
What Success Looks Like
Consistent monthly depletion growth across priority SKUs
Expanded distribution in both on- and off-premise accounts
Strong execution in top priority accounts (menus, back-bar, features) that translates to volume
Distributor sales teams actively selling and advocating for Breuckelen Distilling brands
Opportunities are identified and shared with leadership proactively, not reactively
