What You’ll Do IronArch is seeking a Graphic Designer II to support an enterprise-wide engagement with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC). This is a client-facing role focused on visual communication, brand-consistent design, and clear storytelling in support of complex federal programs.
You’ll work directly with AFCEC stakeholders and IronArch teammates to translate technical, operational, and programmatic information into clear, visually engaging materials for diverse audiences—including leadership and executive teams. While design is the primary focus, this role also includes light writing and editing for newsletters and short-form communications that accompany designed assets.
This position is well-suited for a designer who can own work independently, collaborate confidently with clients, and deliver polished products in a structured, mission-driven environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and produce high-quality visual assets across digital and print platforms in support of AFCEC initiatives
Create newsletters, digital publications, infographics, one-pagers, and executive-facing presentations and reports
Write and edit newsletters and short-form articles that support program updates and internal communications
Translate complex, technical, or operational content into clear, accessible, and visually compelling designs
Apply and maintain brand standards, accessibility requirements, and government guidelines (including Section 508) across all deliverables
Collaborate directly with AFCEC stakeholders, subject matter experts, and team members to gather requirements and iterate on solutions
Manage assigned work independently, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight
Secondary Responsibilities
Support internal IronArch design needs as capacity allows
Contribute to shared design assets and process improvements that promote consistency and efficiency
Requirements
5–7 years of professional graphic design experience
Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills across digital and print media
Experience writing or editing newsletters or short-form articles
Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite)
Working knowledge of accessibility standards, including Section 508, and experience applying them to digital and document-based deliverables
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing work
Experience working in enterprise or government environments preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Clear communication skills and comfort working in client-facing settings
Preferred Experience
Prior Air Force Experience
Experience supporting federal or Department of Defense programs
Local to San Antionio area with ability to go on site one day per week or as needed
Familiarity with structured, compliance-driven delivery environments
Current authorization to work for the U.S. Government or ability to support federal agency work
