Overview

The Email Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in driving our organization’s outreach, membership growth, and communication efforts through the development, execution, and optimization of email marketing campaigns. The incumbent works closely with internal teams to craft targeted, high-quality email content that engages our members, enhances brand presence, and supports overall marketing objectives. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, excels in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about leveraging email as a strategic tool for a nonprofit membership organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Email Campaign Development and Execution:

Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of email marketing campaigns. Manage the scheduling, routing, and approval process for all emails to ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.

Content Creation and Quality Control:

Proofread and edit email content for clarity, grammar, spelling, and overall messaging accuracy. Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to ensure emails meet brand standards and are mobile-friendly. Follow established processes, templates, and governance guidelines.

Optimization and Personalization:

Use provided email templates and pre-approved personalization. Continuously review and refine email design and messaging to improve click-through rates and minimize unsubscribes.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with internal teams to track progress and ensure timely completion of tasks using Wrike, our task management system. Update the Email Marketing SOP on a monthly basis. Organize and maintain folder structures in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and the team SharePoint.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze email campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and suggest actionable improvements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to generation, deployment, or delivery of emails, including opening support tickets with the Salesforce team.

Industry Best Practices and Compliance:

Stay up to date on industry trends and email marketing best practices to ensure campaigns comply with policies and standards. Ensure all email activities follow guidelines to optimize deliverability and subscriber engagement.

Additional Responsibilities:

Complete other duties as assigned to support broader marketing goals.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related discipline; or 2-4 years proven work experience in an equivalent position.

Proficiency in marketing automation technology

Excellent written communication and copywriting skills

Strong project management skills

An ability to work under tight deadlines

Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members

Experience with analytical and database tools

Familiarity with standard marketing concepts, practices, and procedures within digital marketing and marketing communications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Experience with Wrike Management system

WORKING CONDITIONS This position works in an office setting. Typical working hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with an hour lunch break. Generally, a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions if supporting aviation-related events. This position does not require travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands are typical of a standard office environment. Responsibilities include:

Sitting for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings

Using hands to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment

Communicating effectively via email, phone, and in-person

Occasionally lifting or moving items up to 15 pounds

Occasionally standing, walking, and reaching

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This position is located at AOPA’s Frederick, MD headquarters.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00, depending on education and experience.
