Business Development Manager - Automotive Semiconductor (Bay Area)
Location: Bay Area / Northern California
Travel: As needed to support OEM engagement
Position Overview A global, American Tier 1 automotive semiconductor supplier is seeking a Business Development Manager with direct experience. This role sits at the front end of the OEM influence cycle, engaging a large EV manufacturer early to shape technical roadmaps for EV power electronics, including inverters and DC-DC converters.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain senior-level relationships within the client’s engineering and purchasing organizations.
Influence product adoption early in the vehicle design and technology selection cycle.
Partner closely with Tier 1 suppliers and internal engineering, FAE, and product teams.
Support positioning of power and sensing semiconductor solutions into next-generation EV platforms.
Serve as the voice of the customer internally, aligning OEM needs with product and commercial strategy.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BSEE strongly preferred; related engineering degrees considered).
Experience working for a semiconductor or automotive electronics supplier.
Direct OEM-facing experience with Tesla required.
Strong understanding of OEM sourcing, evaluation, and technology influence processes.
Credible, outgoing presence with the ability to influence at senior technical and commercial levels.
