A day in the life of a Large Loss Field Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job. As a Large Loss Field Property Adjuster, you will be dedicated to providing exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility will involve traveling to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims nationwide, leveraging platforms such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. Your expertise will be focused on water losses to ensure the highest level of support and resolution for these specific claims. Responsibilities
The Customer Service Expert – demonstrate compassion, clarity, and partnership in each claim, leading with empathy. The Investigator – independently investigate property claims by reviewing damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage. The Effective Communicator – communicate via phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process; adapt communication preferences and keep customers updated on progress. The Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third parties, and claimants in line with legal and business standards. The Problem Solver – use multiple tools (estimate tools, job aids, settlement platforms) in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking. The Recorder – document work clearly in the claims system and ensure timely, accurate records and policy compliance. Preferred Qualifications
5-8 years of outside adjuster experience is highly desired. Experience handling claims with multiple trades and losses over $100,000. Proficiency in using Xactimate and other estimating software. Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages and expedite settlements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service. Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide. Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on high-quality work. Residency within the posted location is mandatory. Willingness to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with up to a 6/12 pitch. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed. Training
You're provided with comprehensive training to build a claims foundation and understand the systems and processes used daily. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement occur regularly on the job. Please note:
approximately 2 weeks of training will take place in Wheeling, IL. Licensing
Notice of Licensing Requirement: Depending on office needs, you may be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, including passing a background check. If applicable, licenses must be secured within 60 days of hire. The Hiring Manager and Centralized Licensing team will assist with proper licensing if required. Sign On Bonus
