Job Description We are seeking a Director of HR & Talent to lead and oversee all aspects of human resources and talent management as the company scales nationally. This role will serve as the primary HR authority, partnering closely with the leadership team to ensure the organization is staffed with high-performing talent, performance is optimized, and all HR practices meet legal and regulatory standards. As a hands‑on HR leader, you will drive workforce strategy, performance management, employee relations, and legal compliance across the organization. This is a remote position.
What You’ll Do:
Talent Strategy & Hiring Leadership:
Own workforce planning and headcount strategy
Lead full‑cycle recruiting for Sales, Clinical, and Corporate roles
Define hiring standards, role leveling, and interview frameworks
Ensure consistent, legally compliant hiring practices
Performance Management & Accountability:
Design and enforce company‑wide performance frameworks
Translate role expectations to measurable KPIs
Own 30‑60‑90 plans for all new hires and review processes
Identify early indicators of performance or behavioral risk
Advise leadership on coaching, PIPs, and termination decisions
Ensure consistent documentation and defensible decision‑making
HR Legal Compliance & Risk Management:
Serve as the internal owner of HR legal compliance across all states
Ensure adherence to federal and state employment laws, wage & hour regulations, classification, leave, accommodation, and termination requirements
Partner with external counsel as needed
Advise leadership proactively on people‑related legal exposure
Learning & Development:
Build role‑based onboarding and learning programs
Identify skill gaps and coach managers on performance conversations
Ensure learning supports execution, not theory
Manager Enablement & Culture:
Coach managers on performance conversations and accountability
Support internal communications and reinforce company values
Help leadership scale consistent management practices
Admin, Expense & Policy Enablement:
Own and streamline administrative workflows (expense reimbursement, travel policies, PTO tracking)
Partner with Finance/Ops to improve tools and processes (e.g., Concur, Gusto)
Ensure policies are clear, enforceable, and consistently applied
Ensure compliance with employment policies and best practices
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
Hands‑on recruiting experience (Sales, Clinical, Healthcare, or Medical Device preferred)
Experience supporting fast‑growing or startup environments
Strong judgment, organization, and follow‑through
Comfortable advising executives and managers with sound judgment and discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Gusto or similar HRIS platforms
Experience in medtech or healthcare industries
Strong ability to build HR infrastructure in a high‑growth company
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary:
$160,000 - $185,000 (commensurate with experience)
