Job Summary The Senior Director is a leader within the Financial Planning & Analysis team supporting the Global Specialty business unit, which generates nearly $1 billion in revenue and is rapidly growing. This role requires a strong insurance industry background (e.g., brokerage, carrier) and deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting and analytics. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, data‑driven leader with a strong foundation in finance, exceptional modeling skills and the ability to translate complex results into clear, actionable insights.

This individual will manage and develop a team of analysts, serve as a key partner to leadership across the Global Specialty organisation, and report to the SVP, Head of Financial Planning & Analysis.

Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end budgeting, planning and forecasting processes for the Global Specialty business unit.

Develop driver‑based financial models tailored specifically to insurance product dynamics and P&L structures.

Analyse revenue, loss ratios, claims patterns, underwriting performance and other insurance‑related KPIs.

Prepare executive‑level reporting packages comparing actuals to forecast, budget and prior periods.

Provide regular visibility into operational and financial risks and opportunities across the portfolio.

Serve as the primary finance partner to Global Specialty leadership, ensuring well‑informed decision‑making across all segments.

Use financial modelling and analysis to support growth and strategic initiatives, all to meet and exceed budget.

Support the implementation of enterprise FP&A tools and process enhancements.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Global Specialty Leadership, Data & Analytics, and Corporate Accounting.

Build strong relationships with leadership and insurance segment agency partners to support financial performance and operational execution.

Represent FP&A in strategic discussions, ensuring insights are rooted in data analytics and sound financial modelling.

Mentor and lead a team of analysts, promoting analytical rigor and professional development.

Contribute to the enterprise‑wide analytics vision and roadmap.

Enhance driver‑based modelling and leverage advanced analytics across forecasting processes.

Partner with Data & Analytics teams to ensure accurate financial data, KPI governance and integration into forecasting and reporting tools.

Develop dashboards, reporting frameworks and data visualisations that support business unit and enterprise leadership.

Education and Experience Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related quantitative field.

10+ years of FP&A or finance experience, with at least 5 years in leadership and people‑management roles.

Insurance industry experience required (e.g., brokerage, carrier); strong understanding of insurance financials, loss ratios, claims, underwriting and product economics.

Exceptional financial modelling capabilities, advanced Excel proficiency and experience building complex analytical models.

Experience with FP&A planning tools (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, Oracle EPM).

Strong analytics background, including experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).

Strong partnership with data and technology teams; familiarity with data governance, data warehouses and semantic layers.

Proven record of developing high‑performing teams.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver insights clearly and concisely to executive leadership.

Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and analytical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or MSc degree.

Exposure to fintech environments or technology‑enabled insurance models.

Pay Details The base compensation range for this position is $197,000 – $334,000. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location and internal equity.
