Job Summary:

The Salesforce Release Engineer / Release Manager will own and lead the release, deployment, and environment management discipline for our Salesforce delivery practice supporting a federal defense program. This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining secure, compliant, and repeatable release processes that enable frequent, high-quality deployments into enterprise Salesforce environments. You will work closely with Delivery Leads, Technical Architects, Developers, QA, DevOps teams, and government stakeholders to manage the full release lifecycle—spanning sandbox strategy, version control, CI/CD pipelines, packaging and deployments, release scheduling, and post-release operations—while ensuring strict adherence to DoD cybersecurity, audit, and configuration management standards. This is a

remote role ; however, candidates

must reside in the DMV area

to support occasional in-person client and team engagements. What We Offer

U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance Must reside in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia (DMV) area Bachelor’s degree 3–5+ years of experience in Salesforce release engineering, DevOps, or ALM-focused roles Deep understanding of the Salesforce development lifecycle, metadata types, and deployment models (org-based and package-based) Salesforce release management best practices Sandbox and environment strategy Git-based version control and branching/merge strategies Salesforce CI/CD pipelines (SFDX, Ant, CI tools) Unlocked/managed packages, scratch orgs, and API-driven deployments Experience supporting releases in secure or regulated environments (e.g., DoD, DHS, FedRAMP High, or similar) Strong understanding of risk-based deployment planning, rollback strategies, and operational readiness reviews Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical federal stakeholders Proven ability to produce audit-ready documentation and comply with rigorous CM/QA processes Preferred Qualifications

Salesforce Certified Platform Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect Salesforce Certified Administrator, Platform App Builder, and/or Platform Developer I Prior experience supporting DoD programs, DISA SRG IL2–IL5, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or federal change-control processes Experience managing Salesforce releases in multi-org or enterprise-scale defense environments Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end Salesforce release management for a federal defense program, ensuring all deployments comply with DoD cybersecurity, audit, and configuration management requirements. Define, implement, and govern a secure Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategy, including version control, sandbox strategy, branching and merging, and release governance. Build, maintain, and operate CI/CD pipelines suitable for controlled defense environments using SFDX, Metadata API, Git-based workflows, and approved DevOps tooling. Oversee all Salesforce environments (DEV, QA, UAT, Staging, Production), enforcing least-privilege access, separation of duties, and strong governance controls. Manage release calendars, change-freeze periods, deployment communications, checklists, and documentation required for federal change-control processes (e.g., CAB approvals, audit logs). Execute deployments using unlocked/managed packages, metadata deployments, and automated pipelines, ensuring testing, security scanning, and regression validation are completed. Maintain strict configuration control by capturing production hotfixes and ensuring all changes are reconciled back into version control for audit completeness. Partner with Architects, Developers, QA, Cybersecurity teams, and Government Product Owners to deliver secure, reliable, and timely releases. Produce release documentation, change records, rollback and contingency plans, and audit-ready artifacts aligned with federal program requirements. Monitor Salesforce seasonal releases and communicate potential impacts, security considerations, and readiness activities to defense stakeholders.
