Lead the engineering of reusable frameworks and common components, which enable thousands of technologists across all JPMorgan Chase lines of business to be more efficient and innovative. As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Technology Office, your expertise shapes the future of how software is architected and developed across the firm. You will lead multiple technical areas each responsible for providing reusable frameworks and components to technologists in all departments of JPMorgan Chase. You oversee innovative initiatives to create, design and develop frameworks and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross‑functionally to drive adoption and implementation of technical methods and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

Job responsibilities

Leads multiple technology implementations to achieve firmwide technology objectives

Directly manages multiple teams and oversees employee population

Provides leadership and high‑level direction to teams and sets strategic focus and executes on strategic projects

Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives

Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross‑product collaborations

Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams

Oversees software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

Partners with other teams to build integrated solutions that are cohesive and give a great joined‑up experience to our customers

Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

12+ years + years experience as software engineering leader

Experience developing or leading medium or cross‑functional teams of technologists

Demonstrated prior experience influencing across complex organizations and delivering value at scale

Experience leading complex projects supporting system strategy, design, development, and operational stability

Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders and customers

Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

Extensive practical cloud native experience

Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline

Strong commitment to continuous learning and exploring new technologies

Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience working at code level

Leading global teams

About the Team The Chief Technology Office oversees enabling components inclusive of the top quality engineering and architecture tools and practices, key program management and processes as well as the technology workforce strategy required to make us a leading technology company for our customers, clients and colleagues around the world.
