Our client is a global powerhouse in the real estate sector ($270B AUM), managing a portfolio of iconic properties across the world’s most dynamic markets. From trophy office towers and luxury hospitality to massive industrial platforms and student housing, their reach is unparalleled.
We are seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President to join their lean, high-impact Capital Markets team. This team serves as the strategic architect for the firm’s global real estate financing. This is not just a "transactional" role; it is a leadership position responsible for shaping capital structures, leading complex multi-billion dollar negotiations, and managing the firm’s most critical global lender relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Lead: Source, negotiate, and execute sophisticated financing facilities across the entire capital stack (senior debt, mezz, preferred equity, and securitizations). Capital Optimization: Identify and implement refinancing or restructuring opportunities within the existing global portfolio to maximize business plan returns. Strategic Advisory: Serve as an internal consultant to the Investment and Portfolio Management teams, providing expert guidance on complex financing structures and cross-border capital considerations. Expansive Coverage: Manage and deepen the firm’s connectivity with a diverse network of global lenders, including investment banks, insurance companies, and sovereign credit funds. Market Synthesis: Monitor global real estate capital markets to identify shifts in pricing trends, lender appetite, and structural innovations, translating these into actionable investment strategies. Advanced Structuring: Oversee the development of complex debt and capital structure models to stress-test scenarios and optimize interest rate/currency hedging. Candidate Qualifications
Experience: 5–7 years of relevant experience within Real Estate Capital Markets, Real Estate Investment Banking, or a specialized Debt Advisory firm. Technical Mastery: Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel) with a focus on complex debt waterfall analysis. Proficiency in creating executive-level investment committee materials in PowerPoint. Product Knowledge: Fluency in large, complex capital structures across multiple asset classes (Office, Retail, Multifamily, Industrial, and Hospitality). Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced, "deal-flow" driven environment. Interpersonal Strength: Exceptional stakeholder management skills; must be articulate and confident when presenting to senior leadership and global external partners.
