Our client is one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated real estate investors ($270B AUM), owning an iconic portfolio of properties in the most dynamic global markets. Their holdings span office, retail, multifamily, industrial, and hospitality sectors across North and South America, Europe, and Asia.
We are seeking a high-performing Associate to join their Capital Markets team. This team is the "nerve center" for the firm’s real estate equity business, responsible for property and corporate financing, capital structure optimization, and managing global lender relationships. This is a rare opportunity to work on multi‑billion dollar transactions and interact with a vast array of capital products, from CMBS and securitization to complex hedging strategies.
Key Responsibilities Financing Execution & Underwriting
Debt Placement: Support the structuring and execution of debt placements for the US Real Estate Equity business.
Underwriting: Prepare comprehensive underwriting and financing materials for world‑class assets across various sectors.
Transaction Management: Work alongside senior team members to drive the loan closing process, building the expertise to lead financing processes independently over time.
Capital Markets Research: Act as an internal advisor to investment teams by providing real‑time research on credit terms, pricing comparables, and debt capital market trends.
Portfolio Oversight: Maintain detailed data sets and reports for the existing loan portfolio to facilitate strategic decision‑making and optimization.
Relationship Management
Lender Coverage: Develop and maintain relationships with a global network of capital providers, including investment banks, commercial lenders, and private credit funds.
Candidate Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in Real Estate Underwriting, Real Estate Investment Banking (REIB), or a related debt advisory role.
Technical Skills: High degree of proficiency in Excel, Argus, and PowerPoint is required. You must be comfortable building complex financial models and synthesizing data into executive‑ready presentations.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative field with a record of high academic achievement.
Mindset: An intellectually curious "growth mindset" is essential. You should thrive in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment with firm deadlines.
Communication: Exceptional social and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
