Tax Director (Asset Management)

Our client is a global Investment Fund based in Chicago currently seeking to add a Tax Director to lead their Tax Reporting & Accounting Team. Ideal individual will partner with Head of Tax and work closely with CFO to provide expert assistance with respect all Tax Accounting/Reporting and Tax Compliance related matters. This is a newly created role, working with Firms' Executives whom will play a pivotal role in Executive leadership and drive the policies and procedures for Tax Team Responsible for tax accounting, internal and external reporting, disclosures, and forecasting. Review partnership allocations of income for investment partnerships and issue K-1s to investors. Ensure tax provisions are calculated accurately and in accordance with US GAAP & SOX. Work closely with the Tax Managing Director on tax structuring for various clients of different tax profiles. Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including estimates and planning, for the public & private entities. Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact the firm’s tax positions Reviewing complex tax returns Advising Management Team on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden Requirements Bachelors or Master's degree in Tax or Accounting CPA/MBA and/or MST not required (strongly preferred) 7+ years partnership tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience. Well versed in Corporate, S-Corp and/or Partnership returns including SEC Experience with Alteryx, Power Automate, or Power BI
