A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial projects across Northern Virginia. This role will focus on managing day-to-day construction activities for healthcare, interior renovations, and government builds—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on-site execution of commercial construction projects (healthcare, interiors, and federal/government)
Coordinate subcontractors, site logistics, and construction schedules
Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and quality standards
Oversee daily reporting, inspections, and progress tracking
Collaborate with project managers, owners, and design teams to resolve field issues
Maintain project documentation and participate in project meetings
Supervise site staff and ensure timely completion of all milestones
Required Skills & Experience
5–10+ years of commercial construction experience, including projects in healthcare, interiors, or government sectors.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and safety on occupied or sensitive sites
Familiarity with permitting, inspections, and jurisdictional requirements in Northern Virginia
Proficient in construction management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30 certification
Experience with federal or government contracting standards a plus
Strong knowledge of infection control and compliance protocols for healthcare projects
Ability to manage fast-paced renovation and fit-out schedules
