Director of Finance Opportunity in Omaha!
Our client is a creative and technical provider of scenic design, engineering, fabrication, and theatrical equipment services for arenas, museums, schools, performance venues, and commercial clients. With over 25 years in business, they support high-quality projects across the U.S.
The company is adding a Director of Finance to lead all financial operations and strategy for and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This role is responsible for oversight of accounting functions, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, compliance, reporting, and financial process improvement. The Director will help ensure sound financial health, enable data-driven decision-making, and support sustainable growth in a project-driven, creative manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial strategy aligned with business goals.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support growth, profitability, and operational efficiencies.
Partner with operations to establish financial targets and performance metrics.
Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, project cost tracking, and month-end close.
Prepare accurate, timely financial reports including P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements.
Develop and manage the annual budgeting process with department leaders, and monitor budget adherence throughout the year.
Build financial models and forecasts for revenue, expenses, cash flow, and capital requirements.
Ensure compliance with state and federal tax reporting, audit requirements, and financial regulations.
Supervise and mentor finance and accounting team.
Promote cross-functional collaboration with project managers, operations, HR, and executive leadership.
Evaluate financial systems and software, recommend upgrades, and drive process automation and improvement.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA/CPA preferred.
Experience: 7+ years progressive finance experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role overseeing accounting/finance functions in a multi-state organization. Prior experience in construction, project-based services, or similar industries is a plus.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and internal controls.
Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Proficiency with accounting software, (Sage 100) and advanced skills with Excel.
