Position Summary
The Senior Director of Claims Operations sets the vision and drives transformational strategy for Walmart’s Claims Operations, benchmarking against top TPAs and insurers to deliver best-in-class practices. This leader excels in function specialization, financial improvement, and change management, collaborating with stakeholders across Walmart, Sam’s Club, and core business areas. This role leads advanced process implementation, ensures compliance, and leverages analytics to optimize the claims lifecycle.

The organization is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end claims process, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with all regulatory requirements. WCS partners closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence, mitigate risk, and support Walmart’s commitment to integrity and service.
What you’ll do
Leads all support functions for Leave of Absence (LB), Specialty, and Workers' Compensation (WC) claims.
Defines and implements best-in-class Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for claims processes.
Oversees training, associate quality, vendor quality, and ensures compliance across all support functions.
Drives continuous improvement in operational excellence and service delivery for claims management.
What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate has 5 years’ experience in claim operations leadership at major insurer or TPA.
Lead an enterprise Claims Operations strategy, benchmarked against top TPAs/insurers to modernize best practices.
Drives financial improvement through severity reduction, leakage control, and vendor performance management.
Executes large-scale change management and process redesign across complex, multi-business environments.
Ensures compliance, governance, and audit readiness across the claims lifecycle.
Uses analytics to improve cycle time, outcomes, and operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Option 1: Bachelor’s degree or related area and 4 years’ experience in insurance claims or related area.
Option 2: 6 years’ experience in insurance claims or related area.

Salary The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Stock.
