Role The Director of Commercial Operations will be a strategic leader responsible for the end-to-end management of our Veeva CRM ecosystem, ensuring optimized field execution, reporting, and data governance across commercial teams. This role will own the processes, analytics, and insights that drive field deployment, targeting, and performance reporting, while partnering with Sales, Medical, Patient Access, and IT to enable data-informed decision-making. Additionally, the Director will manage the design, administration, and execution of incentive compensation plans, including system configuration, calculations, QA, true-ups, and field support for inquiries and disputes, ensuring compliant, audit-ready operations. This position is based in Princeton, NJ, and requires on-site presence three days per week.

Salary Range: $180k - $210k

Key Responsibilities CRM Ownership and Optimization Provide strategic ownership and governance of the Veeva CRM ecosystem to support field execution, reporting and communication, including change management leadership for adoption of CRM and new tools. Own HCP/HCO and COE data strategy, stewardship, and governance, including OpenData, Network, affiliations, and match/merge standards. Define and oversee data quality, master data management, and integration standards across commercial systems. Serve as business partner with Sales, Medical, Patient Access, IT and Veeva System Administration to set vision, priorities, and roadmap for CRM enhancements and new initiatives.

Customer-Level Insights, Field Analytics & Reporting Perform field force sizing, territory alignment and targeting analyses and communicate Zip-To-Terr, field force roster, and target list changes to relevant stakeholders. Evaluate sales performance, geographic, and market analytics, including trend analysis, regional performance, segmentation, and call activity insights. Partner with Sales leadership to support territory-level opportunity assessments using claims data, EMR data, specialty pharmacy data and other rare-disease data assets. Educate sales team on reporting tools, enhancing their use for targeting and call planning management and strategic decision making.

Incentive Compensation Design, manage and administer incentive compensation plans and contests for field teams. Execute approved incentive compensation plans by configuring system rules, eligibility, territories, quotas and crediting logic. Manage IC calculations and data quality, including performance data validation, QA, true-ups, and exception handling. Serve as the primary point of contact for field incentive inquires and disputes, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution. Deliver rep-facing incentive statements and reporting while maintaining, documentation, audit trails and compliant execution.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, science or related field. MBA a plus. 6 - 8 years of experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a commercial analytics, incentive compensation and/or sales operations roles supporting field-based teams. Highly knowledgeable in commercial data warehouse concepts, industry HCP/patient/payer level data, Veeva suite of commercial platforms (i.e. Veeva CRM, OpenData/Network), and reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI). Demonstrated success in optimizing field force effectiveness by leveraging performance metrics and implementing deployment, alignment and targeting strategies. Strong knowledge of incentive compensation plan design and administration. Experience in a start-up environment preferred.
