Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and organized Activity Director to join our team at our Greenfield location in Royal Oak, MI. The Activity Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities and programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and coordinate a variety of recreational and social activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
Plan and implement daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules.
Collaborate with staff, residents, and families to ensure activities meet the needs and preferences of the community.
Maintain accurate records of participation and progress for each resident.
Manage activity supplies and budget to ensure resources are available and used efficiently.
Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages resident engagement and socialization.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to activity programming.
Supervise and train activity assistants and volunteers as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
Previous experience in activity planning or recreational therapy, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine interest in improving residents’ quality of life.
Work Environment This position is based at our Greenfield location in Royal Oak, MI. The Activity Director will work closely with residents, families, and staff in a dynamic and supportive environment.
