Base pay range

$140,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Director of FP&A

Remote – Must be based out of Chicago, New York City, or Pittsburgh, PA

Overview Our client is a rapidly growing, PE-backed services company executing an aggressive growth strategy through both acquisitions and organic expansion. The organization is seeking a Director of FP&A to lead and scale its FP&A function, providing critical financial insight, operational analytics, and strategic support to executive leadership.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on FP&A leader who thrives in fast‑paced, evolving environments and has experience supporting multi‑entity organizations during periods of transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the FP&A team, driving best‑in‑class financial planning, forecasting, and performance management processes

Own the annual budgeting, rolling forecast, and long‑range planning processes across multiple operating entities

Partner closely with operational and functional leaders to deliver actionable insights, KPIs, and decision support

Support multi‑entity integration efforts, including acquisition modeling, post‑acquisition reporting, and performance tracking

Oversee consolidations and financial reporting support for a complex, multi‑entity structure

Develop and enhance financial models to evaluate growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and operational efficiencies

Prepare and present financial analysis and executive‑level reporting for senior management and PE sponsors

Continuously improve FP&A processes, systems, and reporting tools to support scalability and data integrity

Act as a strategic thought partner to leadership during periods of rapid change and growth

Qualifications & Experience

8–15 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong emphasis on FP&A

CPA greatly preferred

Prior experience in public accounting strongly preferred (Big 4 or national firm a plus)

Experience in a private equity–backed environment or supporting PE sponsors is highly desirable

Demonstrated success in operational FP&A, ideally within a multi‑entity or services‑based organization

Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem‑solving skills

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale high‑performing teams

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at the executive level
