Director of Engineering
to lead all facility, maintenance, and engineering operations and ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient environment of care. The Director of Engineering is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating all engineering and maintenance functions across the facility. This role serves as a key operational leader and provides consultative support across departments. Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, buildings, and equipment within budget Lead and coordinate engineering and maintenance activities with clinical and operational departments Manage programs to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, Article 28, and applicable city, state, and federal regulations Maintain detailed documentation, records, and project tracking Oversee contractors during renovations, utility shutdowns, and system restarts Conduct regular facility inspections and address repair or replacement needs Provide 24/7 facility leadership and on-call responsibility Negotiate vendor agreements and manage service contracts Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) 5–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in engineering and facilities management Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance Experience in healthcare or regulated environments strongly preferred Ability to interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation Thorough knowledge of local building codes and healthcare safety regulations (Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA)
