Save Job

We are partnering with a highly regarded, institutionally backed private credit platform to hire a Vice President of Underwriting for its growing Dallas-based investment team.

This is an investing role for a seasoned credit professional who wants to operate at pace, take ownership of transactions, and play a central role in underwriting and executing sponsor-backed private credit deals. The team is actively deploying capital and looking for someone who can step in immediately to run diligence, manage deal teams, and drive internal execution.

The Opportunity This role sits at the core of the investment function. As a VP, you will be responsible for leading underwriting on new transactions, partnering closely with sponsors, advisors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders throughout the full deal lifecycle.

The platform is known for its high-volume sponsor activity and fast-moving deal environment — this is not a shop doing a handful of large, slow-moving transactions each year. The ideal candidate thrives in an execution-oriented setting and brings strong judgment across credit, structure, and documentation.

Strong experience with sponsor-backed transactions

Comfort running diligence processes independently

Serve as the day‑to‑day deal lead, managing diligence workstreams and coordinating internal and external parties

Review and negotiate legal documentation (credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, sponsor terms, etc.) in partnership with counsel

Evaluate sponsor quality, transaction structure, downside protection, and risk‑adjusted returns

Manage internal underwriting processes and ensure efficient execution from initial screening through close

Mentor junior team members and set a high standard for analytical rigor and execution
