Overview
Our client, a publicly traded financial services company and its affiliated investment advisors located in midtown Manhattan, is seeking a Vice President, Private Real Estate Attorney, to provide legal counsel for the private real estate business. Responsibilities
Transactional support for property acquisitions and dispositions, including joint ventures and related financing arrangements. Provide legal guidance and filings related to the governance and statutory framework applicable to private fund and non-traded REIT vehicles. Assist the team on contract review and negotiation covering platform and selling agreements. Partner with Compliance to ensure all regulatory requirements are met. Augment the legal support capabilities for the firm’s private real estate business and report directly to the private real estate legal team leader. Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of transactional private real estate experience from a well-regarded law firm’s real estate practice and/or in-house. Ideal candidates will have in-house experience. Experience with joint ventures, real estate fund formation, and REITs are pluses. Ability to advise legal and business teams on all aspects of real estate transactions and run deals independently. Driven, ambitious, and passionate candidate. Compensation & Logistics
Compensation will consist of a base of $260,000 to $300,000, as well as a discretionary, performance based annual cash bonus and a full suite of benefits. Hours are manageable and reasonable and the in-office requirement is 4 days a week in the midtown office.
