Director of Sales & Business Development – Field Services Reports to:

AVP of Field Services Position Summary The Director of Sales & Business Development – Field Services is responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion across Virginia Transformer’s

field services and aftermarket business . This role focuses on developing new service opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and partnering closely with Field Operations to deliver high-quality service solutions. Reporting to the AVP of Field Services, the Director will lead service-focused sales execution, support long-cycle aftermarket opportunities, and help scale a growing field service organization aligned with customer needs and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

Field Services Sales Leadership Lead and execute sales and business development strategies focused on

field services and aftermarket offerings , including installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. Drive revenue growth, margin performance, and customer retention within the service portfolio. Establish sales goals, KPIs, and performance expectations aligned with Field Services objectives. Business Development & Market Expansion Identify and pursue new service opportunities with existing and new customers. Expand aftermarket penetration across the installed base. Develop long-term service strategies aligned with customer lifecycle needs. Support development of service agreements, renewals, and long-term maintenance contracts. Serve as a senior commercial interface for customers on service-related matters. Support executive-level customer discussions, negotiations, and issue resolution. Translate customer needs into clear scopes of work in collaboration with Field Operations and Engineering. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with the AVP of Field Services, Director of Field Service, Engineering, and Operations to align sales efforts with execution capabilities. Support development of service pricing strategies, estimates, and proposals. Ensure smooth handoff from sales to field execution. Pipeline, Forecasting & Performance Management Own service sales pipeline development, forecasting, and reporting. Track performance against revenue, margin, and growth targets. Provide regular updates and insights to the AVP of Field Services and leadership team. Process & Growth Enablement Develop scalable sales processes, tools, and best practices for field services. Support creation of service sales playbooks, account strategies, and value propositions. Promote a customer-focused, accountable sales culture aligned with service excellence. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. 8–12+ years of experience in

sales and business development , with significant exposure to: Field services Aftermarket or service-based sales Industrial, electrical, or engineered equipment environments Proven experience driving revenue growth in service or aftermarket organizations. Strong customer-facing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and technical teams. Willingness to work

on-site in Roanoke, VA , with travel as required. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in power transformers, electrical equipment, or heavy industrial services. Background selling service contracts, maintenance agreements, or lifecycle solutions. Familiarity with long-cycle, technically complex sales processes. Experience working in matrixed or growing organizations.
