Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kailua-Kona, HI, for a Clinical Director. The Clinical Director will oversee clinical operations, manage and provide supervision to clinical staff, and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include developing treatment protocols, implementing best practices in mental and behavioral health, conducting assessments, and ensuring adherence to relevant medical and clinical regulations. Main Duties & Responsibilities
Will oversee daily clinical issues (on-site preferred), including but not limited to, meet with clients or families as deemed clinically appropriate; responsible for decisions regarding unusual discharges and providing proactive direction in an effort to minimize crises and ensure that proper care is being provided in accordance with program guidelines, policies and procedures, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Will ensure that client records are compliant with all regulatory and certification entities and accurately reflect the client’s course of care. Supervises assigned staff to focus on staff development, training, and supervision. In conjunction with Program Director & Compliance Manager he/she is actively involved with maintaining client and staff satisfaction and recommends changes for improvement based on the clinical needs of the population. Will oversee implementation of quality improvement initiatives within all clinical programs and ensure compliance with Hawaii State (ADAD-DOH), Title 11, and Joint Commission Accreditation standards. Assist the case managers and therapists in the residential units. Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and administrative meetings. Individualpossessesan exceptional clinical understandingofSubstanceUse &Cooccurring Disorders, Diagnostics,andTreatments(IncludingN/limitedto:CognitiveBehavioralTherapy,Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Brain spotting, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and/or Other relevant modalities & theoretical orientations) Effectivelydevelopsmastertreatmentplansandcoordinatesappropriatedischargeplanningin concert with the Case Management team & Discharge Plannerto ensure positive treatment outcomes. Be an active participant in the administration of Honu House Hawaii. Including Collaborating with Marketing, Accounting, Intake, Admissions & Discharge Coordinator, resolving problems to improve seamless functioning and milieu management in the continuum of clinical services at HHH. Collaborate and engage in the special projects and initiatives for the development and program enhancement of the clinical program and overall vision of Honu House Hawaii Executive Leadership. Provide clinical supervision of the clinical team (associate therapists and registered practicum interns.) Participatesintheclinicalon-callrotationandisavailabletorespondtoallemergenciesatthe facilities 24/7. Alongside the Program Director, take ownership over customer service, quality improvement, grievances and incident reports. Assist in facilitation of transfers related to psychiatric crises involving and coordinating the multidisciplinary team. Meet with families participating in family programs when necessary. Individuals arelicensedingoodstandingasan(LMFT,LCSW,LMHC,orPsyD.) IndividualisaRegisteredSupervisorlicensedwiththeBoardofBehavioralSciences(BBS) Proficient with Kipu EMR Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Inadditiontoexperiencerequiredinthe bulletsabove,aminimum of 3 to 5yearsofexperiencein providing direct supervision to clinicians providing care to persons with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental illness. Possesses long-term understanding and experience in the detox & residential levels of care in substance use disorder treatment. Must embrace and demonstrate commitment to the Honu House philosophy that alcoholism and drug dependency are primary, chronic, progressive and potentially fatal diseases that are treatable and arrestable. Demonstrate the ability to provide multiple roles of clinical supervision, including consultant, mentor, team member, and administrator. Hiring, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, promotion, and corrective actions/performance evaluation of personnel within the department Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Use a leadership style that creates and maintains an environment based on mutual respect, trust, and teamwork.
