Oncology Regional Business Director - Great Lakes

Chicago, IL Kyowa Kirin is a fast-growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four disease areas: bone and mineral; intractable hematologic; hematology oncology; and rare disease. Chicago, IL | Detroit, MI | Columbus, OH | Pittsburgh, PA | Indianapolis, IN | Nashville, TN | Minneapolis, MN The Oncology Regional Business Director reports directly to the National Sales Director and oversees a regional team of Oncology Account Managers, providing leadership to achieve sales goals using the Company’s marketing strategies and managing performance and communications with the sales team, internal team members, and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a strategic Regional Sales Plan focused on centers of excellence, key oncology accounts, and community oncology accounts to support key business drivers while aligning with National Brand and Corporate Strategies

Provide strong, clear, and compliant direction to achieve regional sales goals using marketing plans and pull-through managed markets strategies

Recruit, hire, train, retain, develop and lead diverse high-performing Oncology Account Managers

Manage regional budget and allocate resources as appropriate

Monitor external trends and the competitive market and share findings with the National Sales Director

Develop quarterly/annual pull-through plans and align regional efforts to meet annual objectives

Fully understand and train the region on IC Plan components and how to achieve goals

Develop and maintain relationships with outside partners such as institutions, clinics, and networks to maximize sales results

Establish relationships with key Thought Leaders

Manage all areas of the sales team’s performance including selling skills, administrative duties, and career progression

Contribute to regional and national projects as assigned by the National Sales Director

Job Requirements

Education

Experience

2 to 8 years of prior Sales Management experience in hospitals or account sales

Strongly prefer experience in oncology and/or rare disease

Experience in working with a buy and bill product

Knowledge of and relationships with key oncology institutions and clinics

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including building strong working relationships and managing and resolving conflict

Results-oriented and team-oriented

Ability to travel up to 60% including overnight travel

Proven track record of success

Current knowledge of all relevant industry, legal and regulatory compliance guidelines

Commitment to the highest ethical, legal, regulatory and scientific standards

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office Suite and Veeva is a must

Excellent organizational and communication skills, initiative, and ambition to succeed

Valid US Driver’s License

Non-Technical Skills

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including building strong working relationships and managing and resolving conflict

Results-oriented and team-oriented

Proven track record of success

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physical Demands

Normal office environment with prolonged sitting and extensive computer work. Extensive driving and potential air travel with overnights are expected. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle is required

Field-based role with approximately 50% overnight travel depending on territory

Annualized base salary ranges from $175,000 – $200,000 plus sales incentive. Actual salaries will vary commensurate with experience, education, training, and merit.

This position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.
