Overview
Imagine being part of a team that’s redefining the future of mobility—where your ideas don’t just sit in a lab but power next-generation technology. At indie, we are developing cutting-edge semiconductors, photonics, and radar sensors and systems for automotive, industrial, and adjacent markets. Our innovations are at the heart of advanced intelligent sensing and user experience applications, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and want to make a real impact alongside a fast-paced team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, we’d love to have you on board! We are seeking a Global IT Director to own and operate indie’s internal enterprise IT environment end-to-end across a worldwide organization. This is an internal IT leadership role, not a product or SaaS platform development or consulting position. The Global IT Director will be accountable for all aspects of internal IT, including end-user computing, service desk operations, infrastructure, networking, systems, cybersecurity, and user experience, while defining and executing the long-term IT roadmap aligned to business growth. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on: a leader who can guide a global team, build strong vendor partnerships, and actively engage in operations to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable internal IT environment. We are an engineering organization with some in-house manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has experience supporting and enabling RnD, lab and manufacturing environments from an IT infrastructure and DevOps perspective. Responsibilities
IT Leadership & Strategy
Develop and execute a global IT strategy aligned with business growth and operational goals. Own internal IT operations end-to-end, with accountability for service quality, availability, and user satisfaction. Lead, mentor, and scale a geographically distributed IT team; establish structure, processes, and operating models to support global growth. Partner with the COO, Central Engineering, CFO, and executive leadership on IT planning, investment decisions, and enterprise-wide initiatives. Define, track, and continuously improve IT KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics. End-User Computing & IT Operations
Own global end-user computing and service desk operations (Tier 1–3) across 10+ countries, including endpoint management, identity and access, and collaboration tools. Ensure consistent, high-quality end-user experience across devices, applications, access, and local site support. Drive operational excellence through incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of internal IT services. Oversee IT asset lifecycle management, procurement, deployment, and retirement across hardware and software environments. Infrastructure, Network & Systems
Oversee internal on-premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness. Manage global network architecture, including connectivity, VPNs, firewalls, and secure remote access. Lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of internal enterprise applications and SaaS platforms. Partner closely with the CFO organization to securely operate and optimize the ERP environment. Engineering, R&D & Lab Enablement
Work closely with Central Engineering to securely enable internal engineering organizations, including on-prem and off-prem CAD tools, geographically distributed R&D lab environments, and DevOps workflows. Ensure IT solutions meet the availability, performance, and security requirements of engineering, lab, and development teams. Cybersecurity & Compliance
Own indie’s global cybersecurity posture, policies, certifications, and incident response readiness. Lead hands-on execution of identity and access management, vulnerability management, threat monitoring, and remediation activities. Ensure compliance with applicable international regulations and industry standards; proactively drive risk reduction initiatives. Vendor, Budget & Program Management
Own the global IT budget, cost optimization strategy, and long-term capacity planning. Evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendor and service provider relationships. Lead major internal IT initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades, system modernization, and cloud adoption efforts. Qualifications
10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including recent ownership of internal enterprise IT operations for a global, multi-site organization. Demonstrated success leading end-to-end internal IT functions, including service desk, end-user computing, infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity. Hands-on technical experience running internal IT infrastructure, endpoint environments, and security operations in a global enterprise setting. Proven ability to lead, develop, and scale geographically distributed IT teams. Demonstrated ownership of cybersecurity programs, including incident response, IAM, vulnerability remediation, and compliance readiness. Experience supporting internal engineering organizations, R&D labs, and/or DevOps environments in a high-availability setting strongly preferred. Strong executive communication, influencing, and stakeholder partnership skills. Experience operating in a 24/7 or high-availability environment strongly preferred. Note:
Candidates whose background is primarily IT consulting, managed services delivery, or product/platform engineering without recent internal IT ownership will not be a fit for this role. Who You Are
A strategic thinker who can also roll up your sleeves when needed. Calm, solutions-oriented, and effective under pressure. Able to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in a growing organization. Passionate about building robust, secure, and scalable systems that enable the business. indie Semiconductor and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
