Overview
The Assistant Superintendent supports on-site construction operations by coordinating specific project areas and/or assigned self-performed and subcontracted trades. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate field work in alignment with contract documents, project schedules, and planned work sequences Maintain a strong understanding of assigned scopes, milestones, and activity durations Supervise field labor and subcontractors to ensure efficient, cost-effective execution Monitor material and equipment deliveries impacting assigned work areas Support budget awareness and address cost variances as needed Enforce safety programs and conduct regular site safety inspections in compliance with company and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA) Foster positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders Contribute to team development through mentorship and talent identification Anticipate project and stakeholder needs to drive successful outcomes Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field preferred 3–6 years of experience in a field-based construction supervisory role Proven ability to manage subcontractors and field teams Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and contract administration Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance Self-motivated, adaptable, team-oriented, and accountable professional Preferred Skills
Experience with construction management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, FieldWire, Bluebeam, and P6
