A well-established Cyber Security software provider supporting U.S. Federal Civilian agencies is hiring a seasoned Federal Account Manager to own and grow an existing portfolio of government customers.
This role is built for a true federal seller — someone experienced navigating civilian agencies, managing long‑term programs, and driving renewals and expansion within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
You’ll inherit named accounts, focus on retention and growth, and act as a long‑term partner to your agencies rather than chasing transactional deals.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own a set of existing U.S. Federal Civilian accounts as the primary account lead
Drive contract renewals, option years, and expansion opportunities across assigned agencies
Build trusted relationships with program managers, CISOs, security teams, and contracting officers
Develop and execute multi‑year account plans aligned to agency missions and funding cycles
Identify whitespace opportunities and expand footprint across programs, bureaus, and components
Partner closely with customer success, technical, and product teams to ensure adoption and outcomes
Navigate federal procurement processes, pricing discussions, and contract structures with confidence
Proactively manage account health and renewal risk across long‑term government programs
Position the platform as a mission‑critical solution supporting compliance, security, and resilience
What They’re Looking For
8+ years of federal sales or federal account management experience
Strong background selling or managing cybersecurity, risk, compliance, or enterprise SaaS solutions
Direct experience selling into U.S. Federal Civilian agencies (non‑DoD)
Proven success owning renewals and expanding existing federal accounts
Deep understanding of federal buying cycles, contracting vehicles, and acquisition stakeholders
Ability to operate comfortably with senior government decision-makers and technical buyers
Consultative selling mindset focused on long‑term value, not short‑term transactions
Willingness to travel domestically as needed
Why This Role Appeals to Federal Sellers
Named accounts with real ownership and long‑term customer relationships
Strong emphasis on renewals and expansion rather than pure net‑new hunting
Product aligned to real federal missions (security, compliance, operational resilience)
Cross‑functional support model built for federal programs
Stable, established vendor with a strong federal customer base
If you’re a Federal Civilian seller who values account ownership, credibility with agencies, and building long‑term programs — this is the type of role that rewards experience.
My client are open to both an Account Management background or a new business background but this hire must be someone who maintains long term relationships with customers, understands the multi faceted sales approach needed in the fed civilian market place and sees the bigger picture.
Please only apply if you have successfully sold Cyber Security or Cyber Risk platforms / offerings before.
