We are seeking a hands-on
Director of IT & Security
to own and operate our internal technology and security environment. This role is responsible for the
reliability, security, and scalability
of the company’s IT systems. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic operator who has
run real environments , managed vendors and MSPs, improved security posture, and partnered with leadership — not a purely strategic or advisory technologist. This is a senior, highly visible role with direct accountability for IT operations and security outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Own the company’s
IT infrastructure and security posture
end-to-end Manage internal systems, networks, endpoints, cloud services, and access controls Serve as the primary owner of
cybersecurity hygiene , risk identification, and remediation Manage and hold accountable external vendors, MSPs, and security providers Establish and enforce IT standards, documentation, and operating procedures Ensure high system availability, reliability, and user experience Partner with leadership on IT strategy, systems evolution, and risk management Support compliance, audit, and security initiatives as needed Lead incident response and remediation when issues arise What We’re Looking For
8–15 years of experience in
IT Operations, Infrastructure, or Security leadership Prior ownership of an internal IT environment (not advisory-only) Strong understanding of infrastructure, identity, security, and vendor management Experience balancing hands-on execution with leadership accountability Comfortable operating in regulated or security-conscious environments Practical, calm, and decisive under pressure Why This Role
