Job Summary
The Marketplace Facilitated Enroller (MFE) is responsible for identifying prospective members that do not have health insurance and assisting with the enrollment process to connect them to needed care. The MFE conducts interviews and screens eligible recipients for enrollment into Government Programs such as Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus, and Essential Plan, and assists with enrollment into Qualified Health Plans. The MFE must offer all plans and products, assist families with applications, gather documentation, and help select appropriate health plans. The enroller provides information on managed care programs and accessing care, processes paperwork accurately, follows up on visit documentation, assists members with recertification, and maintains professional relationships with community agencies and county/state agency personnel.
Responsibilities
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual enrollment goals and growth targets.
Interview, screen, and assist eligible recipients with enrollment into Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus, the Essential Plan, and Qualified Health Plans.
Meet consumers at various community sites.
Educate consumers on plan options, benefits, required documentation, and premium payment information.
Assist clients with choosing a plan and primary care physician.
Submit all completed applications by required deadlines.
Assist current members with annual recertification and adding eligible family members.Respond to inquiries from prospective members in line with marketing guidelines.
Adhere to all NYSOH rules and regulations for MFE functions.
Participate in community outreach projects (minimum 8 hours per week).
Establish and maintain relationships with hospitals, providers, city agencies, and community-based organizations.
Attend external meetings, health fairs, and events as required.
Provide occasional weekend or evening availability for special events.
Qualifications Required Education:
HS Diploma
Required Experience:
Minimum one year of experience working with State and Federal health insurance programs and populations.
Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills, ability to work independently.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication; strong presentation skills.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and adaptability to change.
Reliable transportation and a valid NYS driver’s license with no restrictions.
Knowledge of managed care insurance plans.
Ability to work with a diverse population.
Flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Education:
AA/AS – Associate’s degree
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience as a Marketplace Facilitated Enroller.
Bilingual – Spanish & English.
Successful completion of the NYSOH required training, certification, and recertification is mandatory.
Pay Range: $18.04 – $42.2 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, education, and skill level.
