Job Summary
The Marketplace Facilitated Enrollment Specialist (MFES) plays a crucial role in helping uninsured individuals connect to essential health coverage. By conducting interviews, the MFES identifies potential candidates for enrollment into Government Programs such as Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus, and the Essential Plan. The MFES also supports enrollment into Qualified Health Plans, ensuring a seamless application process. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the various plans and products offered, assisting candidates in choosing the right coverage for their needs.
The MFES is responsible for guiding families through the application process, gathering necessary documentation, and helping them select the appropriate health plan. In addition, the MFES will assist current members with their recertification needs. Building strong, collaborative relationships with local community agencies and county/state personnel is vital for this role, ensuring effective outreach and engagement with prospective members.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve enrollment goals set by management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Interview and assist potentially eligible individuals in navigating the enrollment process for Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and Qualified Health Plans.
Conduct outreach and meet consumers at various community locations.
Educate individuals about application requirements and streamline their enrollment experience.
Provide thorough information about plan features, benefits, and necessary disclosures to potential members.
Educate members on premium payment options and deadlines.
Assist clients in choosing their health plan and primary care physician.
Ensure all applications are submitted accurately and on time, adhering to NYSOH and Molina guidelines.
Identify members due for recertification and assist with the annual application process.
Respond to inquiries from current and potential members while adhering to marketing guidelines.
Participate in outreach projects for a minimum of 8 hours per week, attending community events and health fairs.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners such as community-based organizations and hospitals.
Represent the organization in external meetings as needed.
Be available for occasional weekend or evening events.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma required.
Experience
At least one year of experience working within State and Federal Health Insurance programs.
Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to work independently.
Proficient in written and oral communication, with strong presentation skills.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
Positive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Valid NYS driver’s license with no restrictions and reliable transportation.
Knowledge of Managed Care insurance plans is preferred.
Experience working with diverse populations, including underserved communities.
Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
License and Certification
Completion of the NYSOH required training, certification, and recertification is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree is preferred. Bilingual candidates, especially in Spanish and English, are encouraged to apply.

Pay Range: $18.04 - $42.20 / HOURLY. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
