Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location:

Bolingbrook, Chicago, IL – Supply Chain Solutions Division.

Responsibilities

Collect data and perform statistical analysis to map and document processes.

Identify process gaps, recommend and implement improvements, and manage a continuous improvement plan.

Lead CI and steady‑state engineering projects, assess initiatives, support certification and automation projects.

Coach and train employees in Lean, CI, and quality methodology, including product slotting, labor studies, and layout optimization.

Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events, ensuring sustained results and follow‑up.

Provide regular reports on data and progress to measure outcomes against site objectives.

Additional Responsibilities

Design, implement, monitor, and maintain the QMS based on company and industry standards.

Implement and monitor a standardized corrective action system.

Support regulatory compliance and certification requirements.

Perform all functions related to quality assurance for a startup or expansion.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to build relationships across all organization levels and manage cross‑functional CI projects.

Strong organizational, time‑management, and multi‑tasking abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau). Intermediate database programming (SQL, DAX) preferred.

Experience with Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, PDCA, VSM) and quality systems.

Knowledge of warehouse design, slotting, labor planning, and automation solutions.

Understanding of transportation and logistics design tools (JDA, Llamasoft, OTM, Tableau).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or equivalent plus 5+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing, or Master’s degree plus 3+ years.

Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI/Tableau, and SQL or DAX.

Functional experience in Lean, PDCA, VSM, Kaizen, 5S, and visual management.

Knowledge of warehouse design tools (AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST), WMS (Manhattan Scale), and labor management systems.

Understanding of inventory, automation, and transportation design tools.

Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ISO or other supply chain credentials preferred.

Travel 65% travel; DOT regulated: None.

Compensation

Pay Type: Salaried.

Annual Salary: $100,000 – $110,000, based on experience.

Potential for annual bonus, commission, and long‑term incentive plans.
