Underground Utility Locators
(Full-time)
We are recruiting Underground Utility Locators in your area for a rewarding career. Vannguard is seeking new team members with the right attitude in a drug‑free environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive a company vehicle to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
Utilize provided mapping tools and locating equipment to find underground utilities, including electrical, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
Mark utility locations with paint or flags and communicate information to excavation personnel or authorities.
Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs according to the rotation schedule.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude
Computer skills
Valid driver’s license in the state of employment
Availability to work overtime when necessary
Compliance with Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and pre‑employment drug screening
Ability to self‑manage and communicate promptly with supervisors and clients
Physical Demands
Drive 50–300+ miles daily in the assigned geographic area
Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day
Stand and walk long distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions
Sit for long periods while driving
Lift and/or move 50–150 pounds
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Education
High school or equivalent (required)
License
Driver’s license (required)
