About the Campaign
Wanda James is launching a bold, nationally watched campaign for Congress in Colorado's 1st District, centered in Denver and focused on the future. A Navy veteran, CU Regent, and cannabis entrepreneur, Wanda is bringing new leadership to Washington rooted in economic justice, equity, and community power. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-energy campaign in its earliest stages. We're looking for a full-time Finance Director who is both strategist and executor, ready to build systems, cultivate donors, and lead a winning fundraising program from the ground up. Role Overview
The Finance Director will lead the campaign's fundraising strategy and execution. You'll work closely with the candidate and team to support call time, oversee events, track data, and drive major donor and grassroots programs. This key leadership role requires political savvy, operational discipline, and a commitment to our campaign's values. Key Responsibilities
Design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy
across major donors, digital, grassroots, and events Organize candidate call time manager : prepare lists, track pledges, and oversee follow-ups. Maintain the campaigns' CRM system
(NGP): ensure clean data, accurate records, and effective donor segmentation. Coordinate and execute fundraising events : from intimate salons to large-scale gatherings. Build strong donor relationships
and steward ongoing engagement Engage bundlers and networks
in Denver and nationally Ensure FEC compliance : work with compliance vendors to meet all reporting and tracking requirements What We're Looking For
At least one complete campaign cycle in a
federal or statewidefundraising role Experience managing major donor programs
and call time Familiarity with tools like
NGP, ActBlue, Google Workspace, and other political tech. Highly organized, detail-oriented , and committed to follow-through Strong communication skills
and ability to collaborate across teams Alignment with the campaign's
progressive values and equity-driven mission Additional Information
Pay scale is between 6-8K/month. This is a full-time, salaried role
with evening and weekend work expected Hybrid schedule considered , but applicants must be
based in or relocating toDenver Reports to the
Campaign Manager
and works closely with the Candidate To Apply
