Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Compensation:
$135,000 – $155,000 annually, DOQ
Position Overview: We are hiring a Director of Behavioral Health Services to guide and grow comprehensive behavioral health programs within a well-regarded healthcare setting in Oakland. This full-time leadership position combines operational oversight, clinical leadership, and strategic planning to ensure that individuals and families receive accessible, high-quality mental health care.
Core Responsibilities:
Direct day-to-day operations of behavioral health services, including program oversight, staffing, and adherence to policies and regulations
Lead and mentor clinical and administrative staff, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth
Design and maintain policies, workflows, and procedures to meet regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards
Work closely with medical leadership, primary care teams, and community partners to deliver coordinated, integrated care
Analyze program data, quality indicators, and financial performance to guide service improvements and sustainability
Support staff development through education, supervision, and performance management
Participate in organizational planning to enhance and expand behavioral health offerings
Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, or related discipline
Active California license: LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PhD, PsyD, or RN with psychiatric specialty
At least 5 years of progressive experience in behavioral health, including supervisory or administrative responsibilities
Solid knowledge of clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and the community behavioral health landscape
Demonstrated strength in leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving
Annual salary range of $135,000–$155,000, commensurate with experience
