
# Development DirectorNorthern Berkshire Community Coalition### Job Description**Northern Berkshire Community Coalition (nbCC) Development Director**Reports to: Executive DirectorStatus: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Exempt**Annual Salary: $80,000 – 90,000**The Development Director leads nbCC’s fundraising and resource development efforts to ensure sustainable, diversified revenue in support of the organization’s mission. As a member of the leadership team, this role advances nbCC’s visibility, cultivates strong relationships with donors and partners, and integrates health equity, anti-racism, and community-driven values into all development activities. Interested parties should submit a cover letter, resume, and three references to info@nbccoalition.org.**Essential Job Functions:**Strategy & Leadership* Serve on the leadership team with primary responsibility for fundraising strategy and revenue growth.* Establish and manage annual and long-term revenue goals, budgets, and work plans.* Partner with the Executive Director and Board on fundraising strategy and organizational priorities.Fundraising & Donor Relations* Lead all development activities, including annual appeals, major gifts, fundraising events, and individual giving.* Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects, including securing 4–5 major gifts annually.* Increase individual giving year over year through effective donor engagement and stewardship.* Serve as a visible and enthusiastic ambassador for nbCC.Grants & Institutional Giving* Serve as nbCC’s primary grant writer.* Research, write, and submit grant proposals to government, foundation, and corporate funders.* Manage grant reporting and stewardship in collaboration with program and finance staff.Systems, Communications & Collaboration* Manage the donor database, including gift entry, acknowledgements, tracking, and reporting.* Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to align fundraising with marketing and outreach efforts.* Maintain strong relationships with the Board, donors, staff, and philanthropic partners.Organizational Values & Culture* Advance an inclusive, welcoming workplace culture.* Integrate health equity, anti-racism, and community-driven decision-making into all fundraising efforts.* Participate in professional development and other duties as needed.* Participate in professional development and perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the responsibilities of the position.**Qualifications:*** 5–7+ years of nonprofit development experience with demonstrated success in major gifts and annual appeals.* Proven grant writing and foundation relations experience.* Track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.* Ability to build relationships with diverse donors and community stakeholders.* Familiarity with northern Berkshire County preferred.**Work Requirements:*** Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle; ability to travel throughout northern Berkshire County.* Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.* Ability to support events and community activities, including light lifting and set-up.ApplyJob Location:North Adams, MA / semi-remoteJob Category:DevelopmentEmployment Type:Full Time
