About the Role Senior Graphic Designer – Communications – (190613)

In this role, you will work alongside teammates in the Architecture Marketing Studio, focusing on visual and written storytelling and be integral to the development of the architecture practice’s flagship publication and visual assets for multi‑media campaigns.

Responsibilities

Apply expertise in graphic design fundamentals such as layout, typography, alignment, hierarchy, and composition to elevate all visual outputs.

Interpret architectural design content, extracting key ideas to communicate visually from concept through completion through compelling visual narratives using graphics, layouts, diagrams, infographics, and mixed media storytelling.

Create refined print and digital ready deliverables.

Demonstrate curiosity and ability with an understanding of basic architectural drawings.

Brainstorm and develop diagrams and graphics that convey complex data and information in collaboration with experts from architecture, design, computational, sustainability, research and planning disciplines.

Refine architectural drawings, renderings, and animations to translate and simplify design ideas for clients, media partners and other key stakeholders.

Collaborate with the architecture communications team and larger Architecture Marketing Studio to brainstorm and develop new ideas and projects in support of our architecture practice business goals.

Deliver assignments on time while consistently meeting quality standards.

Work with peer or senior designers on multi‑component projects.

Research technology and production techniques or processes for each project, as necessary.

Work alongside design, marketing and communications leadership to develop visual standards for awards and external media platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years in the architecture industry.

Degree in Graphic Design, Design Communication, Architecture or related discipline.

Experience with Premiere, After Effects and Audition; ability and experience working on strategic campaigns.

Ability to curate and design compelling project narratives for high‑end publications, presentations, brochures, infographics, and architecture graphics, ensuring clarity and visual impact; advanced proficiency in layout design, typography, and graphic design principles.

Demonstrates a rigorous, detail‑oriented mindset—committed to exploring ideas deeply and synthesizing information into clear, impactful visual narratives.

Proficient in communication, negotiation, flexibility, time and project management, attention to detail, leadership, and teamwork; experienced in collaborating with architects, project managers, and marketing teams.

Nice to haves: Rhino, Revit or other visualization tools.

Submittal Requirements: Cover Letter, Resume and Portfolio.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to design a wide variety of styles.

Eye for design details, such as typography, alignment, hierarchy, etc.

Strong portfolio showing design experience.

Understanding of branding/brand development, communications, and research.

Proficiency in customer service, strong communication and negotiation skills, flexibility, time management, project management, detail oriented, leadership, and teamwork.

Experience with Premiere, After Effects and Audition; ability and experience working on strategic campaigns (Video Designers only).

Offset printing/digital printing/color correction; ability to coordinate complex projects.
