About the Role The CoNEXTions Street Outreach Program supports youth ages 12-21 who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, abuse, trafficking, or exploitation. Outreach Specialists meet youth where they are-in the community, on the street, or in our drop-in center-offering safety, resources, and ongoing support.

For our program to find success, we believe in meeting youth where they are. Street Outreach Specialists go out on the streets of our Cape Girardeau community to areas where youth frequently congregate, seek shelter, etc. and provide youth who are in need with a variety of resources: basic need items, community resource information, as well as just a safe person who is not asking or requiring anything in return for any services/items provided.

For any youth who wants or needs more assistance and support; a Street Outreach Specialists will work along side that youth on a regular basis, providing the necessary support, resources, etc. to help achieve the goals the youth wants to attain.

The work is grounded in trauma-informed care and emphasizes trust, collaboration, and empowerment.
