
Property/Asset Shipping Receiving
Reports to the Logistics Manager; duties include packing and crating, coordinating and processing shipments utilizing DD Form 1149’s, as well as multiple courier documentation. Responsible for inspecting, receiving, and tagging incoming assets. Perform annual inventory, process excess property via disposition program. Utilize property management system to update records and track property through the life‑cycle; periodically performing quality control of documentation and records. Support Government Property functions for highly active Defense Contractor in a SCIF environment.
Responsibilities
Responsible for inspecting, receiving, tagging and posting incoming property and materials to the Property Management System (Sunflower).
Package, crate, strap and wrap property for commercial, courier and military shipments in accordance with accepted commercial and military standards. Create DD Form 1149’s and other required documentation and update the property system to reflect shipments.
Select commercial carriers to meet required delivery dates while ensuring lowest cost available to the company.
Coordinate courier shipments with applicable agencies.
Maintain strict housekeeping and warehouse operations in logistics and storage areas.
Perform equipment sanitization and follow established excess disposition processes.
Perform annual inventory on over 20,000 assets using scanners and or manual updates.
Track property movements and update Property Management System as required.
Support all property management functions as outlined in FAR Part 45, Clause 52.245.1 and agency directives to support Government property audits from multiple agencies.
Will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Provide logistics assistance to associates and customer personnel.
Maintaining a professional property certification is desirable.
Must be able to work and communicate well both orally and written in a team environment as this position involves significant and continued interface with internal and external customers.
Will be potentially required to get Hazmat certification in order to process hazardous material shipments.
Must be able to lift heavy equipment.
This is a demanding position in a very active environment; the ideal candidate should be able to work independently and/or in teams, have high energy and strong attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications
Security Clearance TS/SCI with CI Poly
Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years related experience or 5 years related experience without a Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with Property Management Systems
Experience with U.S Government Property
Experience with Commercial and Military Transportation Systems
Experience with Logistics Operations to include Packaging, Shipping, and Receiving
MS Office Suite: Excel and Word
Desired Skills
Knowledge of Property Management Systems
Good communication skills both oral and written
Must have excellent customer relations/liaison skills
Experienced user of computer programs to accomplish reports and maintain logs
Certified or knowledgeable of Hazmat shipping requirements
Familiar with Courier operations
CPPS level certification
