Job description

Responsibilities

Summary of Job Purpose: Responsible for Safran Power Units San Diego functional adherence to all applicable compliance related standards such as Customs- Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Custom Border Protection (CBP) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Determine requirements of exporting and importing defense and dual-use articles and services under ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.

Ensure all company procedures, work instructions, etc. comply with applicable regulations, Safran USA guidance, and Safran guidance.

Prepare and submit and monitor status of license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, and requests for Commodity Jurisdiction, Classification, etc.

Coordinate with Export Compliance Coordinator, Product Classification Focal and/or Empowered Officials to ensure and oversee the accurate classification of products according to Safran USA / Safran policies and applicable government guidance.

Monitor departments' export transactions to ensure technical data, services and/or articles are exported according to U.S. regulations and company procedures.

Establish Export Compliance Coordinators for each area to assist in monitoring of that areas compliance related items.

Assist in compliance audits and investigations and implement necessary corrective actions.

Assist in and retain import and export records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and work instructions.

Ensure import / export documentation is completed properly on a consistent basis according to applicable regulations and company procedures.

Conduct departmental training for import/export compliance with various internal/external departments.

Implement a system for conducting site audits for import/export compliance.

Import Compliance:

Interface with U.S. Customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, internal customers and suppliers to resolve issues of inbound materials.

Monitor import transactions to ensure Entry Summaries are completed and maintained properly.

Ensure products are properly classified.

Work with Operations to obtain proof of delivery for customs drawback duties.

Export Compliance:

Maintain compliance procedures and policies to ensure compliance according to the Safran USA export controls program.

Monitor shipping transactions to ensure AES transmissions (export declarations) are completed and maintained properly and that no exports are shipped to restricted countries.

Monitor export tools used throughout company to perform Denied Parties screening and product/license determination.

Monitor and apply regulatory changes to product classifications and licensing.

Review export transactions of controlled products and technology.

Ensure products, technology and software is properly classified for export.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor\'s Degree or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience or knowledge of US export control regulation (ITAR, EAR, etc.) concepts, practices, and procedures.

Intermediate to Advanced level- Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

SAP is a plus.
