About the Opportunity A top-performing, well-established CPA firm in the the Chicagoland area is expanding its audit leadership team and seeking a Quality Control Audit Director. This role offers a fast‑track path to partnership, joining a growing group. You’ll serve as a key technical resource for the department, overseeing audit quality, reviewing statements, and guiding the team through new standards and best practices.
Role Overview The Audit Quality Director will lead the firm’s compliance with AICPA’s new quality management standards, conduct technical reviews of audit engagements, ensure GAAP compliance, and support the implementation of new accounting guidance. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and the capacity to advise teams on complex accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
Perform technical reviews of audits and reviews for GAAP compliance
Oversee adherence to AICPA quality management standards
Provide GAAP research support to staff and managers
Assist with implementing new accounting pronouncements
Lead project management for audit quality initiatives
Review work product for staff through senior levels
Support consulting engagements for partners and managers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
CPA required
8+ years of recent public accounting experience
2+ years of GAAP technical review experience
Experience with Yellow Book/Uniform Guidance audits preferred
Excellent communication and project management abilities
