Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Location: Remote - Anywhere on East Coast
Typical Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM ET
Travel: 1 a month to the office in Rhode Island

Description Our client in the Structural Steel Erection industry is looking for a Remote Structural Steel Estimator to join their team. In this role, you will estimate structural steel erection costs for commercial projects across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. You’ll review drawings, perform takeoffs, prepare job files and proposals, and collaborate closely with management to determine project viability and pricing. You must have hands‑on experience estimating structural steel erection (not just fabrication), as this is a core part of the company’s work. To succeed, you should have proven experience interpreting structural drawings, performing takeoffs, and managing bid packages with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities
Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for structural steel erection projects
Review drawings and specifications to determine project scope
Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment
Collaborate with management to evaluate and select bid opportunities
Source and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
Develop cost breakdowns using estimating software and Excel
Create and maintain organized job files and records
Support project teams to ensure smooth handoff post‑award
Qualifications
2+ years of structural steel erection estimating experience required
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings required
Estimating software experience required
