Tax Senior Associate – Core Group Encino Office | On‑Site or Hybrid (In Office through April 15th, Then 3 Days Per Week On‑Site May Be Considered)

Rose, Snyder & Jacobs LLP is hiring a Tax Senior Associate with 3‑5+ years of experience for our Core Tax Group. This role offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated clients, deepen your technical expertise, and advance toward leadership.

You have experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns and are eager to grow your technical expertise, lead engagements, and mentor junior staff. What You Will Do
Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, S‑Corps, and C‑Corps
Conduct tax research and summarize findings using authoritative sources
Collaborate with managers on tax planning, modeling, and compliance strategy
Ensure timely, accurate, and high‑quality deliverables that meet RSJ standards
Assist with IRS and state tax notices, including direct communication with agencies
Participate in client meetings and serve as a day‑to‑day contact on engagements
Supervise and review the work of Associates and Interns
Provide coaching, training, and feedback to junior team members
Lead smaller engagements, manage workflow, and support team success
Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Contribute to internal committees and firm‑wide initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred)
3‑5+ years of public accounting experience (mid‑sized firm experience preferred)
CPA or EA license, or actively pursuing licensure (required for promotion to Manager)
Strong knowledge of Federal and California tax law for individuals and businesses
Experience with flow‑through entities, S corporations, and C corporations
Proficiency in CCH ProSystem fx or CCH Axcess, Microsoft Excel, and XCM
Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management skills
What We Offer
Salary range: $85,000 to $105,000 (commensurate with experience)

Health Savings Account: Firm contributes $1,300 annually (accrues monthly) if enrolled in medical insurance coverage with the firm

401(k): 25% match of employee contributions after one year of service
Paid time off: 20 days annually (accrued monthly) plus full week off for Thanksgiving

Billable Hour Requirement:
1500 - 1600 annual billable hour target
Busy Season Expectation:
55‑hour weeks for a limited number of weeks
This position requires in‑office presence through your first busy season. After that, the role may transition to a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Encino office or stay fully on‑site. We provide the tools and support needed to stay productive and connected, whether in the office or working remotely.
