We Do Group is supporting a well backed, scale-up Fintech organisation headquartered near Iselin, NJ.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a real growth journey, working for a tenured CFO in a business that has raised over $50m in funding in the last 2 years and is driving towards profitability.
We are looking for an ambitious finance leader who has the ability to be both hands on and take a high level view across a fast paced fintech organisation. This role is more than just technical accounting though, you'll need to balance technical compliance and reporting with FP&A and strategy

CPA with 8+ years experience
Sector experience in financial services, loans, credit or banking/lending
Experience in Small-medium business or PE/investment backed preferred
Experience leading finance operations
Experience of adding strategic value via FP&A or financial modelling
The Role The successful Director of Accounting will lead the following:
Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Oversee financial reporting and analysis, including day-to-day accounting operations
Manage the company’s treasury function, including funding and capital requirements
Work closely with external auditors to drive timely accounting conclusions for revenue recognition.
Act as a primary point of contact throughout the annual audit process for external/internal auditors and consultants on technical revenue matters
Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards
Conduct recurring and ad-hoc reporting to internal teams, investors and capital partners
Analyze data, determine trends and effectively communicate actionable insights to C‑suite management including Board of Directors
Evaluate and improve internal accounting processes, including systems and tools required to support the company’s growth targets
Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial strategies and long‑term financial plans
Collaborate with the executive team to drive business growth and profitability
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions
Your Profile We are looking for a humble, low‑ego servant leader who is an established operator in small‑medium sized businesses that are growing and scaling. Prior experience in a broad role covering both accounting and FP&A is preferable.
We need someone detail orientated who seeks to improve processes and procedures wherever possible.
The business culture is agile and collaborative so you'll need to have the ability to challenge internal and stakeholders when appropriate while pro‑actively seeking to make improvements wherever possible.
This role offers a real development step towards a future CFO role.
